A Greeting from the Delta Chapter President:

Dear Delta Chapter Members,

I am honored and excited to be president of one of the oldest Sigma Theta Tau International chapters in the world. Delta chapter has a rich tradition of phil
anthropy, leadership development, and member engagement that I hope to continue. This is reflected in Delta Chapter being a twelve-time recipient of the Chapter Key Award, an award that recognizes chapters that excel in chapter-related activities including membership recruitment and retention; publicity and programming; professional and leadership development; and local, national, and international collaboration. My vision is to continue this work by furthering member engagement with all that the chapter and Sigma have to offer members.

Regards,

Danielle Olds, MPH, PhD, RN, CIC
2019-2021 Delta Chapter President

Chapter News

  • Celebrating Founder's Day!

Nearly 100 years ago on October 5th, 1922, Sigma was founded by six nursing students at what is today the Indiana University School of Nursing. As Sigma nurses, our goal is to embody the founding principles of love, courage, and honor. In the spirit of Founder's Day, we invite you to participate in 90 minutes of service during October.

We would love to hear about your service activities by posting about them, here, in this discussion board throughout the month of October. If you participated in the New Bethel Virtual 5K, feel free to share your experience and any pictures you may have taken during the event on this thread, too!
  • Co-Sponsoring New Bethel Church Virtual 5K

This year Delta chapter is co-sponsoring the New Bethel Church Community Development Corporation (NB CDC). Delta chapter has supported NB CDC in its community outreach for many years. This year, the NB CDC will be doing a two-hour Facebook Live Virtual 5K event from 10 AM-12 PM on October 3rd with 90-second video clips from sponsors and live interviews (through Zoom) with people who are walking the 5K.
  • Mentorship & Volunteer Opportunity

Deana Wilhoite is looking for volunteers to help mentor students during a Professional Portfolio Workshop as part of the Professional Development III course at KU SON.  The workshop will take place virtually on Thursday, October 22nd from 8-9:50 a.m.

Please, reach out to Deana via email at dwilhoite@kumc.edu by Monday, October 19th if you are interested in being a volunteer for this innovative event!
  • Delta Chapter Stands for Diversity & Inclusion

Please read Delta Chapter leadership's recent statement about events of racial injustice and police brutality.
